Practical Info:

  • Restaurant: 5.0 km: you have the choice of several restaurants in Lisieux or in the region; we will guide you.
  • Beach: 37 km: The beaches of Houlgate and Villers-sur-Mer are the closest to 30 minutes; 10 minutes further you reach Deauville and its Planches and Trouville. Another few minutes by road along the sea and here you are in Honfleur.
  • Hiking on site: leaving the area, several walking routes are available. And many walks around are appreciable.
  • Pool: 7.0 km: The Lisieux Aquatic Center The Nautilus is a good cool destination with children.
  • Riding: 3.0 km: in this region of horses, equestrian centers are not lacking. We can help you choose. One of them is 10 minutes by car.
  • Tennis: 8.0 km: 4 outdoor courts and 3 covers are available in Lisieux.
  • Station: 6.0 km: The Lisieux train station is 12 minutes by car: we can pick you up.
  • Commerce: 2.0 km: The village of St-Martin de la Lieue can find pharmacy and doctor, the post office and a press point. The city of Lisieux 12 minutes has all the shops.

Country of Castles and Manors:

The Château de St-Germain de Livet: 2 km

This is the jewel of the Pays d’Auge: The manor half-timbered and stone and glazed bricks Pré d’Auge dates from the sixteenth century. Surrounded by moats, it is classified as Historic Monuments.

The Pays d’Auge gardens and their ecomuseum, in Cambremer: 20 km

Many themed gardens succeed one another in which the half-timbered architecture, typical of the Pays d’Auge normand is put forward; the superb vegetable settings allow this garden to be part of the 8 remarkable gardens of Calvados.

The gardens of the Château de Boutemont in Ouilly-le-Vicomte: 14 km

Designed by the landscape architect Achille Duchêne in the twentieth century and labeled “remarkable garden”, the park castle Boutemont has evolved over time. Several gardens surround the 16th century castle. An Italian garden, a small garden of perfumes, and many other creations have come to complete the French garden.

The Basilica of Lisieux: 9 km

St. Therese of Lisieux having been beatified in 1923 and canonized in 1925, it was decided to build a large basilica dedicated to the pilgrimage in the city where she had lived and where she had died. Work began in 1929 and was not completed until 1951.

Strongly inspired by the Basilica of the Sacred Heart in Paris, it is one of the largest churches built in the twentieth century; it can accommodate 4,000 people.

It is the second largest pilgrimage site in France.

The landing beaches: 120 km or 1h25

For the day, the landing beaches and the Colleville Cemetery are a landmark destination in the history of our region.

American military cemetery, located just above the so-called Omaha Beach, the Colleville cemetery houses 9,387 white marble stelae, perfectly aligned on lawns, American soldiers who died during the landing and the Battle of Normandy.

You can also visit the site of Pointe du Hoc, place of a terrible battle facing the sea to take the German battery.

Nearby you can discover the German batteries of Tourgeville

The Memorial of Caen: 76 km or 55 minutes

The Memorial of Caen is a museum dedicated to the history of the twentieth century whose whole theme is turned towards peace. You will discover the history of the Second World War.

Museum very rich and didactic for young people.
